The Adelaide Miethke Preschool Handbook provides you with the detailed information you need to know about starting kindergarten.
Session Information
In South Australia, children are entitled to access 15 hours of government preschool per week over four terms (one year) in the year before they start school.
Children who turn 4 years old:

- before 1 May are eligible to start preschool at the beginning of the year.
- on 1 May to 31 October can commence preschool through the mid-year intake at the start of term 3 of that year
- after 31 October will be eligible to commence preschool at the start of the following year.

Enrolment Information
Families wishing to enrol their child at Adelaide Miethke Preschool are welcome to complete a registration form. Places are offered according to the Department for Education guidelines. Families living within the local area will be offered a place in the first round of offers made in August each year. Where vacancies exist places may be offered to families living outside the local area from September. Please contact the centre for more information.
